Flight School Operators Conference: Our Takeaways

This month, we had the pleasure of exhibiting at the annual FSANA (Flight School Association of North America) conference in San Diego. As a very intimate show, it gave us the opportunity to get in front of operators, CFIs, and students alike. Insurance-wise, flight schools often present a plethora of exposures, everything from premises liability to aircraft to maintenance, and in some cases, workers’ comp. Beyond the coverage needs, flight schools also need an efficient and easy way to pay their premiums. Cash flow, in large part, is directly proportionate to the number of flight hours.

Our proprietary SmoothPay program makes it as easy as possible to lessen the payment burden and assist with monthly cash flow. Couple that with our vast market reach, renters’ insurance portal, and expertise in the instruction/rental niche, and we have one of the most comprehensive insurance programs in the flight school industry. Additionally, we met with the president of FSANA to discuss ways we can universalize certain insurance products to FSANA members. One of the key items is workers’ comp specific to flight school operators. More on this and other topics in future issues. It was a worthwhile first trip to the show; we’ll be back!
